A short interview with Charles Nakar, MD - Pediatric Hematologist

What do you like about IHTC and its approach to care?

Our comprehensive approach to patient care, both in traditional patient care and in our approaches to life stage transitions. In addition, as a pediatric hematologist, it’s wonderful to watch my patients transition to an adult hematologist within the center. Our transition programs allow for great communication, education and care.

What aspects of your work are you the most passionate about?

It’s a passion of mine to help educate patients and families to lead successful lives in spite of their spectrum of health challenges.

How would you describe your approach to patient care?

Understanding the needs of both the patient and family is critical to patient care. With our multidisciplinary team, we’re able to address patient needs holistically by assisting with issues—such as insurance and career counseling—so they can focus on getting better.
