Important News from Drs. Amy Shapiro and Anne Greist

Apr 26, 2024

We are excited to share an update about our organization.

You’ve known us as the IHTC—the Indiana Hemophilia & Thrombosis Center. Since our founding in 1998, we’ve grown in every way possible. Today, the IHTC is one of the largest hemophilia treatment centers in the U.S. by number of patients served, size of staff, and number of programs and services.

Because we’ve grown and now care for a broader group of patients in Indiana with blood disorders, we are reorganizing to better represent these patient groups and those we will serve in the future.

Patients are our top priority.

  • Your care team is the same, no matter your condition.
  • Our clinic is fully available to you.
  • You will still have the same access to care.
  • The biggest change you might see is the company name on bills and letters.

IHTC is now a part of our new parent organization Innovative Hematology, Inc. (IHI).

  • IHI is the parent company of IHTC.
  • IHI is a non-profit organization.
  • We have not been bought by another company.
  • IHI and IHTC are in the same building at 8326 Naab Road, Indianapolis, IN 46260.
  • IHI and IHTC care providers are the same:
    • You will continue to see your same provider.
    • Bleeding, clotting, and HHT patients will receive bills and mail from IHTC.
    • Patients with sickle cell disorders, malignancies, and non-bleeding/clotting disorders will receive bills and mail from Innovative Hematology (IHI). As we make this transition, it may take some time for all documents to be changed.

Our mission is the same as it’s always been – to help patients with blood disorders thrive. By changing our name and structure, we can better welcome all patient groups we serve now and in the future. We will continue our focus on innovative therapies that can make life better for all patients. If you have any questions, please email us at [email protected].

Thank you for trusting us as your hematology care provider.

Sincerely,

Drs. Amy D. Shapiro & Anne Greist

Support for families and loved ones of individuals with rare diseases is often limited simply because of their lack of familiarity.
