A short interview with Magdalena Lewandowska, MD, CACP - Adult Hematologist

What do you like about IHTC and its approach to care?

I really appreciate IHTC’s innovative and compassionate approach to patient care. Every patient is cared for as an entire person, and our team tries to help overcome all barriers by providing the best possible care. There is a great duality in medicine—where science meets humanity—which has led to wonderful treatment advances for many diseases. The IHTC’s involvement in scientific research allows us as physicians to provide improved clinical care. It’s been wonderful to see how these scientific advances can have a positive impact on patients’ lives.

What inspires you about your work?

My patients’ resilience. Each patient has their own unique story and faces unique challenges. I’m amazed by the amount of courage, kindness, and strength displayed by people who are sometimes in very difficult situations. It’s an honor and a privilege to care for and be of service to them.

What do you hope to accomplish for patients?

I understand that every patient is different with respect to not just their underlying illness, but also with a unique set of goals, values and challenges. I believe in a personalized approach that strives to provide the best possible care and quality of life for all my patients.
